Hamlet Damodaran, son of a murdered communist, lives the frustrated life of a failed artist. He works for a pittance, much against his will, as an illustrator for a magazine. He lives with his family consisting of his mother, and two elder sisters, both unmarried. Their lives are steeped in the legacy of their ‘martyred’ father Damodaran who had been an active member of the Communist Party. During the course of his uneventful life, he is suddenly made to face a mystery regarding his father’s death which, if not solved, will put a distinct end to his artistic career forever.
